Well, Judith, maybe I don't know who it is, but I do know what it is. About two years ago, at St. Vinnies, I picked up a larger differently shaped vase with the exact same colors/glaze and the exact same "C" or perhaps "7" mark. Fortunately, mine still has both its original paper sticker and original black stamp on its bottom edge that says "Czechoslovakia". The sticker is silver and is embossed with a swan and the initials D.U. That is the mark of the manufacturer Ditmar Urbach, which closed its doors in 1937, a date which very much matches the look of the sticker. You can google hundreds of examples of their wares, but I have yet to find one that looks like mine, except for yours, so I'm guessing this particular style did not have a long run (even though, in my opinion, it is a bit more elegant than most Ditmar Urbach). Perhaps the date on your piece is when somebody added it to their collection? Best, Will K
